Careers at RelinkLabs

UX Designer

So, it turns out that managing a handful of API’s, a recruiter-facing product and a couple of secondary stealth products is time-consuming and requires UX work. Who knew?

Result is that here are lots of loose ends on the UX / product side at Relink just begin for knots. Thus, we seek a kind soul with experience in UX wizardry.

But first, a bit about us. We use machine learning algorithms and big data to match people to jobs, but we use user research and human-centric design thinking to change the way we gather that data from people.

Broadly speaking, you’ll be working directly with our core data science team to design and develop new products. You have strong opinions about new tech products, are ultimately wrong more often than you are right, and are proud to admit so to everyone (except to that one journalist who called you a douche).

As a designer on our team, your job will be to fully understand and empathize with recruiters, applicants, and every step of the job application process. You will be in charge of the formal product design processes. You will spend every day thinking about the future of labor markets and how we can get rid of search boxes and classified ads.

We want you to:
  • Know the future. Have strong idea of where tech interfaces are heading, have strong opinions and be able to defend them well.
  • Have a solid background in and deep love for user research; both as a concept and as a day-to-day sometimes-boring-but-always-valuable reality.
  • Some work experience, seriously. You are fluent in modern software product development, such as Lean UX and design thinking.
  • Translate ideas into prototypes and interfaces. Super important to test and validate ideas and communicate those to engineers
  • Have a deep interest in the possibilities of machine learning and artificial intelligence to change the way we interact.
  • Have a deep suspicion about modern trends and sexy presentations regarding the way machine learning and artificial intelligence will change the way we interact.

Product Designer Internship

Product development is a bitch. Anyone who tells you otherwise is straight up wrong.

Since our inception, we’ve specialized in creating, building and selling B2B products, mainly via API. These API’s are mainly sold to large recruitment companies looking to up their game by adding ML/ AI prowess to their product. Our technology has put us on the radar as one of the most promising HR technology companies on the planet. Now it’s time for us to put our technology in into the hands of recruiters around the world (boring nomenclature: explore new distribution channels). This means we are building new products and need to add ammo to our product team.

As a Product Designer Intern, you will be involved in every aspect of the product development process, from brainstorming the next great product innovation to tweaking pixels right before launch. You will be expected to utilize your full range of product design, interaction design, and visual design skills, and you will potentially own the experience for selected products.

Our target, as with all internships, is for this to lead to a full time, Product Design, position.

For this position you need to be based in Copenhagen, work on site and have a valid working permit in Denmark. We do not offer relocation.

We want you to:

  • Take broad, conceptual ideas and turn them into something useful and valuable for end users
  • Design flows and experiences that are incredibly simple and elegant
  • Contribute to high-level strategic decisions with the rest of the product and executive teams
  • Give and solicit feedback from other designers in order to continually raise our bar for quality
  • Partner with the rest of the team on sales, engineering, research and content to oversee the user experience of a product from conception until launch (and then some)

What we are looking for:

  • Communication skills
  • Experience with front-end programming
  • Demonstrated strategic product thinking and vision
  • Experience in building and shipping applications or software
  • Must have URL featuring examples of interaction design work
  • Demonstrated experience with end-to-end (hybrid UX and UI) product design
  • Interest in or experience from Machine Learning and data visualisation
  • Interest in or experience from conversational design

Bonus if you have:

  • 2+ years of application design
  • 2+ years of visual design
  • 2+ years of interaction design
  • Experience designing for groups of people (international audiences, multi-language localization, accessibility for people with disabilities, etc)

To apply, send us your resume, a bio, a general statement of why the hell you would want to sully your reputation by being associated with an outfit like Relink, and what three things you would do if you were in charge of Twitter, Spotify, or Slack’s product development.

Lastly, to insure you have actually read this far, (and if you have we probably owe you a beer) please include a link to your favorite song by The Beatles. Bundle all of this up in a digital express bag and ship it over.

Data Scientist / Machine Learning Researcher

We are looking for a Machine Learning / Data Science wizard to help us make use of gigantic datasets and revolutionize the way people find jobs and companies find people.

At Relink we are matching people to jobs and companies with new hires.

This is similar to a recommendation engine, but you can not just slap some collaborative filtering on it and call it a day. Using historic public and private data, we apply unsupervised learning and graph modeling to find latent properties of jobs and people, allowing our matching capabilities to go beyond just the CV.

We are looking for someone who can tackle problems within NLP, graph modeling, deep learning (for NLP), unsupervised and supervised machine learning. Experience within any of these areas is a plus, but neither is required.

You should be resourceful: you will not always have access to a perfect training set for a problem, and will have to conjure up ways to create it.

It is important that you understand the practicalities of the real world and that you can work, or learn to work with, the newest of technologies and methods within the machine learning and deep learning space. At the same time, you ought to know how your work is applicable in production. As your work will be running in production a solid software development discipline is needed.

Candidates preferably hold a Masters or PhD degree with practical exposure to deep learning and NLP.

Perhaps you have published scientific work within machine learning or similar disciplines? We would love to see that too.

We want you to:

  • Think and develop at scale in order to handle datasets of hundreds of millions of profiles.

  • Optimise not by shaving off percentage points, but by rethinking the problem.

  • Work closely with our data engineers and developers to ensure elegant, modular integrations in production.

  • Follow the NLP and AI / ML research.

  • Assist with experimental design.

  • Have an honest feedback loop about what is working and what is not.

  • Measure everything.

Experience with the following technologies is a major plus:

  • Deep Learning for NLP and associated frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, Keras, Torch, etc.)

  • Scala and/or functional programming

  • Python and/or R

  • Spark and Spark Streaming

  • TDD and BDD

  • Containerization (docker, etc.)
